Highlighted below are some projects that reflect what can be executed when creativity, craftsmanship and quality material come together with a shared vision.

Epic Headquarters

The Epic Headquarters represents a new and imaginative concept of a corporate campus.
Epic’s strong value of design, sustainable practices, and attention to detail are reflected in it.

Cuningham and Associates were the lead architects for the building 4 project. It was a rewarding experience to work with them. A custom blend of NY/PA fieldstone and weathered bluestone was created for the full-bed veneer. Custom-cut windows and door surrounds were incorporated for a cohesive and visually striking exterior.

Bailey Plaza

The Bailey Plaza project, at Cornell University, was an opportunity to work with the renowned landscape architect, Michael Van Valkenburgh. A parking lot was transformed into a campus gathering space. A mix of bluestone finishes and colors was incorporated in this unique design. This project received the Tucker Design Award from the Building Stone Institute in 2008.

41 Bond Street

The designers of this project drew inspiration from visiting a local bluestone quarry. The design incorporated the natural beauty of the stone and living plants. The building is located in the center of Manhattan’s NoHo East Historic District. As a result, the restrictions and requirements of the NYC Landmarks Preservation Committee needed to be followed.

Bluestone was the material of choice, not only for it’s versatility but also because it met the criteria of the Preservation Committee. Bluestone was used for the facade of this 7 story building and also in the interior of each of the 7 full-floor residences.

12 Warren Street

12 Warren Street is a collection of 13 LEED certified luxury residences in Tribecca, NY. The building was developed, designed and constructed by DDG Partners.

The distinct facade utilized everything from sawn, thermal, natural, and drill hole edges. Lengths ranging from 3′ to 16′ were incorporated in the design. The facade was painstakingly laid out on the ground before installation. Although this project was a challenge, it turned out to be a rewarding experience.

Public Library Camden

The Camden Library Children’s Garden in Camden, MA was designed by the Stroudwater Design Group. The design brought a little whimsy to the picturesque and historically significant library grounds. The sculptural bluestone bench was supported by stone “books”. The books represented authors and illustrators of children’s literature who were from the state of Maine.

This project happened early in Bill’s career and he went to great lengths to make sure every detail was just right. He out-sourced the sandblasting of each book in different fonts to Endicott Artist Memorial. A local craftsman was commissioned to carve children’s blocks, an apple, sand dollars and a cat out of bluestone.

The garden has been the inspiration of several children’s reading gardens across the country. It was also instrumental in sparking Bill’s desire to work on creative, innovative projects.
